I FINALLY GOT MY LAPTOP BACK! But my laptop needs some serious defragmenting and cleaning, though.
After some serious carbo-loading during my Malaysia trip, I’ve been practically cleaning up my body. I’ve been eating more vegetables, and I made a decision to stop eating chips too.
I planned my first semester schedule already. I have a lot of breaks, but I should use them wisely.
I should be more creative when it comes to a lot of things. No, seriously.

It’s time to get pissed. The U.S. law that would turn Google, Facebook, and Twitter into legally immune government spies just passed the House.

We expected CISPA to pass; that’s why this spring, we’re going to organize the largest online privacy protest in history to make sure CISPA is gone for good.

And, in response to (Republican) Rep. Mike Rogers’ accusation that CISPA opponents are just “14 year-old tweeter[s] in the basement”, we thought we’d also challenge Rep. Rogers to get on live national television and debate a 14 year-old in a basement on CISPA. The search for the 14 year-old begins. Are you or do you know a 14 year-old who could totally school a congressman on this issue?

This bill affects everyone — not just U.S. citizens. Anyone with a Facebook account could now have their data shipped directly to the U.S. government. That’s why Internet users overwhelmingly oppose this bill. Over 1.5 million people signed petitions against it. But Congress didn’t listen.

Does this remind you of something? Yep, this is the exact position we were in with SOPA last year. Then the Internet rose up and we made history with the SOPA strike.

Join the largest online privacy protest in history to make sure CISPA goes the same route as SOPA and doesn’t become the law that breaks the 4th Amendment. Are you in?

CISPA threatens our most basic rights. Privacy is important not just for our security but for our rights to freedom of expression. The giant tech companies that stood with Internet users against SOPA are not going to help us this time (but some of the large sites like Mozilla, Imgur, and Reddit are all against CISPA and we love them).

Only a massive grassroots outcry will stop this bill. We’re starting to build the tools. But we need your help.

Ever since passing out two weeks ago, I’ve sort of abstained from exercising. My only form of “exercise” is going up and down our staircase, and occasionally stepping out of my house to go to the internet cafe or to my friend’s house, which are both walking distances from my house.
Also, I’ve applied for two marketing internships this summer. I’m also looking for public relations internships, so if you know some, hit me up!
Org work is keeping me busy this summer. I was elected as one of the officers in my organization this year, and I’ve been helping out with the planning of my org’s activities this school year! It’s not a walk in the park, but it’s going to be worth it. I actually see it as some form of training!
I MISS MY LAPTOP. :(

Summer 2013 Bucket List

For me, the summer vacation is the perfect time to rest, relax, and do the things that I’ve been longing to do for the longest time. And this year, I’ve come up with a list of the things that I plan to do during the summer vacation. I’m excited! Here are the things that I plan to do for summer this year:

Go on a trip. This year, my family’s going to Kuala Lumpur. My dad has always wanted to take us to Kuala Lumpur, since it was something different from Singapore and Hong Kong. Also, I wanted to go to Kuala Lumpur because I want to hoard some of the powdered milk tea that my dad once brought home from there! And H&M too.
Read more books. Over the past few months, I’ve acquired a bunch of books (bought and downloaded online). I think the summer break is the perfect time to catch up on my reading. In fact, I’m going to start with Catcher in the Rye! Honestly, I think that reading does a lot of wonders—-it allows you to expand your vocabulary, and imagine things that are out of this world!
Work out. My friend Chandra is a fitspiration—-her fitness blog posts are really motivating me to get moving. I’ve posted a workout/diet plan, but I’ve somehow neglected it. I plan to get back into it by mixing up my workouts—-such as walking and playing with my dogs, Hip Hop Abs and weights. I also started eating more vegetables, since I’ve spent the last two months eating crap and not working out.
Catch up on my TV shows. ‘Nuff said. Once I get my laptop back, I plan to have a downloading spree of all my favorite shows!
Attend a workshop. I haven’t participated in a workshop in so long, so I’m checking out some workshops online! I’m considering attending a writing workshop, or an art workshop.
Take pictures with my film cameras.

And oh, aside from these things, I know that this summer is going to be busier than my previous summers (excluding last summer—-because I had summer school, and it was exhausting) because I have org work to do as well. I’m excited for the summer vacation, and I plan to make the most out of it.
