Weakling

One confession: I was never the athletic type. I am usually the first one to back out on sports events,  let’s say, running class. My teacher would ask us (meaning, my running class) to run a specific distance every PE class. Sometimes, it’s an uphill run, a 5K distance, or a 3K distance. Being the weakling that I am, I would usually be first in line with my other classmates, run with them, and then I start walking, until my teacher tells me that I’m the last one to finish the distance (needed for PE).

That is, until my running midterms came along.

Truth be told, I was actually the last girl to finish in my running class. But then, I actually felt good. I felt proud of myself, that I can pull off a 3K run. On my own. And recently, when my PE coach asked the girls in our class to run a 3K distance, I was able to beat my own records! It just shows that I am not really that much of a weakling, I was just telling myself that I am a weakling.

And oh, I blame my running class for introducing me to other sports. And an increased appetite.
